A funny thing happened on the way to recording our next podcasts. Schedules changed. Timing shifted. Our next two podcast interviews are now scheduled. But we'd welcome the opportunity to nail down a few more guest interviews. Here's the background.
First, our confirmed lineup includes Virtusa Chief Technologist Kumar Ramamurthy. We'll cover trends in hosted Hadoop -- the big data platform that leverages low-cost storage grids. Dozens of hosting providers and cloud companies now offer Hadoop as a service. But I'm wondering what key questions customers should be asking as they evaluate such services. We'll cover that and more in our conversation with Ramamurthy.
And later this month, we'll connect with Eli Collins, chief technologist at Cloudera -- another key member of the Hadoop ecosystem. Among the key topics we'll cover: The relationship between Hadoop and Spark, another emerging open source storage platform for big data applications.
Side note: For daily Hadoop and big data coverage, check out Information Management -- a website that features daily updates on all the key players and data science trends.
We also have some surprise guests in the works for August... and, ahem... September. In the meantime, if you're interested in nominating someone to appear in the podcast here's what we're looking for...
