A lengthy list of technology startups announced new funding in recent days. Here's a look at five such companies -- including one of our preferred hosting companies.

1. Harvest.ai (San Diego, Calif.), focused on data loss prevention, has raised $2.3 million in seed funding. Trinity Ventures led the round. Several Websense veterans are driving this startup.

2. Hedvig (Santa Clara, Calif), focused on distributed storage, has raised $12.5 million -- led by Atlantic Bridge Capital

3. InAuth (Venice, Calif.), which focused on mobile fraud prevention and app security, has raised $20 million in Series A funding. Bain Capital Partners led the round.

3. Rubrik (Palo Alto, Calif.), the cloud backup provider raised $10 million in Series A -- including financial backing from Microsoft's chairman, ServiceNow's CEO and Veritas's founding CEO. Rubrik CEO Bipul Sinha explains the company's strategy in our Podcast Episode 27.

4. Security Scorecard (New York), focused on global threat risk awareness, raised $12.5 million in Series A funding. Sequoia Capital led the round.

5. WPEngine (Austin, Texas), provider of managed WordPress platforms, has raised $20 million -- bringing total funding to $38.2 million -- though other published reports say the funding levels are higher ($23 million round; $41.2 million to date). Sample customers include AMD, New Relic, and a scrappy startup called After Nines Inc. North Bridge Venture Partners led the latest round, which will fund international expansion.

That's all for now.
