Fresh Tech Funding: Salesforce Ventures' Latest Investment

Our daily look at tech startups that have raised money from friends and family, angel investors, venture capitalists, private equity firms and more. Today's update includes Salesforce.com's latest VC move.

The deals we're tracking today:

1. Agility Recovery (Charlotte, N.C.), a disaster recovery specialist, has received an investment from LLR Partners. Financial figures were not disclosed. During February 2015, Agility supported customers that had eight disaster declarations and 37 alerts amid winter storms across the U.S.

2. Altocloud (Mountain View, Calif.), which develops analytics software to improve customer support engagements (voice, video and chat), has raised $3 million in total funding -- including a recent seed round of $2 million. Multiple investors led the seed round. 

3. Birst (San Francisco), a cloud-based analytics and business intelligence provider, has raised $65 million. Key investors include Wellington Management Company LLP. Birst, which has raised $156 million so far, is set to host its user conference (Forward 2015) May 4-7 in San Francisco.

4. Health Catalyst (Salt Lake City, Utah), which offers healthcare data warehousing and analytics solutions, has raised $70 million in Series D funding led by Norwest Venture Partners.

5. IdentityMind (Palo Alto, Calif.), developer of a risk management platform for regulatory compliance, has completed its latest financing round. Financial figures were not disclosed. Multiple firms led the round. 

6. nCino (Wilmington, N.C.), focused on a cloud-based bank operating system, has expanded its Series B round to include Salesforce Ventures. Yes, nCino runs on Salesforce.com's cloud platform.
